Forest field survey app
DF Walker is a smartphone/tablet application designed for use in field surveys of forests. The Android version can be downloaded for free from the Google Play Store, and the iOS version from the App Store.
Display Othoimage
Ortho-images can be overlaid on the map app. By displaying your current location, you can check your position on the ortho-image. It also supports displaying multiple layers.
Create polygon
You can draw polygons by drawing lines on the map. You can enter any attribute information for the polygons you draw. You can also delete polygons and edit their attribute information. The polygons you draw are saved in GeoJSON format, so you can transfer them to your PC using the upload function and use them directly in GIS software.
Display polygon
You can download polygon files such as the results of analysis by DF Scanner and display them on a map. You can also check and edit attribute information by tapping on the polygon.
Other features
Orthoimages and polygon files can be managed as layers and multiple displays are possible. From the map settings screen, you can customize polygon attribute information and set label display. The map function can be used in offline environments, so it can be used even in environments without an Internet connection.
Orthoimages and polygon files handled by DF Walker can be managed in the cloud, making it possible to exchange files with PCs. By authenticating with your DF account, you will be able to perform download/upload operations within the app.
Recommended devices
DF Walker can be used on many smartphones and tablet devices.
- You need to use a GPS-enabled device to obtain location information.
- When handling large file sizes, operation may slow down depending on the device’s specifications. We recommend using a device with sufficient memory/CPU performance.
- When performing detailed operations such as drawing polygons, we recommend using a pen.
